At Mexichem Fluor, our mission is to make fluorine work for our customers and for the benefit of society, and to create real value through innovation, quality and the best levels of service in our industry.

In the late 1980s we created a new business in response to the environmental challenge of ozone depletion and in 1990 we built the first commercial plant in the world to produce an alternative to CFCs. Since then, our innovative customer technical programmes have supported user industries worldwide - ranging from automotive, refrigeration and air conditioning, to foam and specialist aerosol - to make the complex transition away from CFCs and HCFCs.

Fluorine touches our lives everyday in many unseen ways and brings many benefits to modern life. Our products are integral to many things which society takes for granted:

• Our refrigerants keep food fresh and safe, protect blood supplies and biomedical stores, air condition offices, homes, cars and operating theatres


• Our medical propellants help millions of asthma patients to breathe more easily


• Our fluorinated feedstock chemicals are used to make non-stick coatings for space ships and cooking pans
