Mexichem Fluor has a proven record of innovation in fluorine chemistry dating back over 50 years in ICI and 10 years with INEOS. Over the past 20 years, we have been first in the world in many areas, including:

• first to build a commercial scale plant for manufacture of tetrafluoroethane (HFC 134a) - the main replacement for CFCs - for which we received the prestigious MacRobert and Kirkpatrick Awards for technical innovation


• first to build a commercial scale plant for production of difluoromethane (HFC 32), a critical component in low temperature refrigerant blends to replace CFCs and HCFCs


• first to manage a major industrial refrigeration installation using ozone benign refrigerant blends as a replacement for HCFC 22


• first to design a range of innovative new products for critical applications such as biomedical refrigeration


• first to design and build a dedicated medical propellants plant to meet the strict quality requirements of the pharmaceutical industry


• first to establish a chlorofluorocarbon recovery and recycle capability in Japan and the UK


• first to register a CDM project for minimising R23 emissions

Our plants and operations are certified worldwide to ISO 9001 and, where appropriate for the automotive industry, to TS 16459 which replaced QS 9000, and our medical products facilities operate to the highest standards of current Good Manufacturing Practice as required by the US Food & Drug Administration and the MHRA. Our continued focus and commitment to quality means that our customers can be assured that our products will always meet their highest expectations.
