In conjunction with good containment, recovery and recycling at end-of-life, is one of the most effective means of reducing emissions of all refrigerants.Only by preventing emissions and avoiding environmental effects will the refrigeration engineer retain the freedom in future to use the best refrigerant for each job − confident that there will be no flammability hazard from hydrocarbons, no global warming impact from HFCs and no toxic hazard from ammonia.
Mexichem Fluor supports recovery and reclamation services through its distribution network for all its refrigerants, including its KLEA® ranges. Schemes are available in many countries for commercial refrigerant customers, with an additional scheme in the UK to provide logistics and handling for transportation of waste refrigerants for destruction.
As HFCs are non-toxic and non-flammable they are easy to recover and reclaim for reuse. Refrigerants that cannot be purified to a high enough standard will have to be disposed of through approved destruction processes, which are proven as an environmentally acceptable means of disposing of these products. |
