Mexichem manufactures aluminum fluoride (AlF3), CAS No 7784-18-1, also known as Alumina, at our facility in Matamoros, Mexico.

Alumina is produced as a granular, off-white, free-flowing powder. It is non-toxic and non-reactive under normal conditions.

Alumina is used as a flux in aluminum production where it reduces the temperatures necessary to produce aluminum and also enables the removal of magnesium by generating magnesium fluoride which is readily removed thereby producing the pure aluminum grade required.
